Today is International Jazz Day… and it’s got me wondering, where would modern music be without jazz? Honestly, I can’t bear the thought!! If the world wasn’t currently experiencing this
glitch in the matrix resting period, I would have been at the Jazzahead music conference in Bremen, Germany.
Music lovers across the globe all have their opinions on jazz, typically you’re in either the love it or leave it camp. Personally, I’ll admit I’m not the most knowledgable on the topic; and I could not honestly say that I love every jazz track I hear.
However, I would argue that jazz music is always refreshing and always fresh (no matter it’s age)! Jazz artists are always experimenting, trying new things and pushing the envelope. It’s also such a diverse genre that it really wouldn’t be fair to say you HATE it unless you had listened to all that jazzy jazz that’s out there! Love it or hate it, jazz music take you to some way out there places and gets you out of that comfort zone…

Laila Biali and her marvelous band together have really set the bar high for isolated together videos! I love seeing these talented artists killin’ it in their homes. Kudos to the audio engineering and mixing that goes behind putting something like this together. Check out more from Laila Biali’s latest album, Out of Dust.
